I’m Getting Excited . . .

I am getting very antsy. One more week until we leave for Portland, Oregon! Seeing pictures like this make me very happy to be going to Portland (and that Jason has picked up photography as a new hobby! Thanks for the inspiration Jonny!). I must say that a vacation could not have been planned at a better time! I’m in desperate need of some recharging and time with Jason. 🙂 Sad news is that Trip Hub is no longer operating . . . it’s too bad – I did find a new site called Trip Wiser that uses Google maps and helps plan everything out! If you have any suggestions we’re still figuring out what to do while we’re there.

Gosh, I can’t wait to see these in person and take some of our own pictures! Yay for vacations!

Use caution? Wow man. You are all sorts of off base. I have friends that are lesbians. Is there a problem with that?

I live in Austin, the only liberal city in Texas. In all honesty, I welcome the liberality of Portland.

I wonder if jim was kidding or being sarcastic. If not, that’s quite prejudice.

I agree, its not just the Multnomah Falls, but Portland is a very very beautiful place, the Flowers, the climate, I guess its holds a lot of scenic beauty. Be sure to try out the Moroccan restaurant, its quite an experience.

Found your site off of the main WordPress page… I’m originally from Portland. Check out the Rose Gardens, up by the zoo. Amazing view of Portland and fun to take pictures of all the flowers. NW 23rd is a great street for shopping, as is Hawthorne Blvd on the eastside. Powell’s Bookstore is definitely worth a visit. If you like spicy Cajun food, Montage, under the Morrison Bridge, is awesome! Might be worth seeing who’s playing at the Crystal Ballroom, or you could check out the Baghdad Theather (on Hawthorne) for a movie and beer (it’s owned by McMenamins, a brewery)… If you’re heading out to Multnomah falls, stop by Edgefield in Troutdale. Nice place… http://mcmenamins.com/index.php?loc=3&category=Location%20Homepage.

    Hope this helps! 🙂

Oh, and if you want to check out a great church (if you’re there on a Sunday), my old church is imagodeicommunity.com.

yes there is a problem with lesbians especially if they publicly state it woman. Since the vile act is disgusting and obviously they need mental counseling. Since you dont think there is a problem perhaps you should seek help.

Didn’t your parents ever teach you right from wrong?

Don’t you mean tolerance and empathy?

Jim, man, I don’t care if you agree or disagree with the lesbian lifestyle – it is not your place to judge and hate in this lifetime. You can believe something is wrong without being hateful. Love carries with it a more powerful message than condemnation.

Matthew 7:1-2 sums it up nicely: “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” You ready for that? I guarantee you there is something in your life that is wrong – you ever look at porn, get sloppy drunk, talk back to your parents? That, in my mind, is wrong. Didn’t your parent’s ever teach your right from wrong? You’re a sick man. You might just need mental counseling.

Jim, I hate to break it to you, but Portland isn’t “full of lesbians” any more than any other city in America. Sure, they’re there, but in my twenty-two years of living there, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything inappropriate, at least not beyond simple hand-holding. Not that there would be anything wrong with kissing in public, but I think what you know is based either on a lie someone told you or some horribly traumatic experience that scarred you as a youngster.

Here’s a tip: Get over yourself.

There was no “unless he or she is gay” clause when I said “love thy neighbor.”

I “know” your husband from the Relevant forums.

Loved your response… it shows that he is blessed to have a godly woman as a wife. Great verse!

Those photos are beautiful! You must post your own pictures when you get back from Portland. That place is certainly on our places to visit.

And what’s up with that guy above? Wow.
